The Den Project: Chapter 1
Book-lovers struggle to find quiet, calm places to read. Writers groups are tired of trying to meet in noisy, busy, crowded restaurants, uncomfortable, virtually chair-less bookstores, or early-closing libraries. Indie authors don't want to pay a small fortune to hold their book signings. Businesses want to advertise to a highly specific part of the market. Book clubs are growing too large to meet in a member's cramped apartment.
There is a simple solution: The Den by Volo Press.
This first stage of development will need at least $3,000. This will pay for the lease for a space of at least 400 square feet to be used for literary lifestyle retail (books, e-readers, bookshelves, reading glasses, writing utensils, stationary, laptops and tablets, etc.).
If this campaign can raise enough money (closer to$5,000), The Den can be opened in a larger space (closer to 1,000 square feet), where areas of the building can be rented out to writing groups, book clubs, authors, students, and literary agents for meetings, classes, training, private work space, write-ins, and book signings.
After Chapter 1 is initiated (space leased, inventory purchased, advertising secured, etc.). the revenue created from The Den's initial stage will help pay for the second phase of development (Chapter 2) as outlined in the Volo Press Business Expansion Business Plan (2017).
